Computer Literacy Programme (CLP)

A Computer Literacy Programme was initiated by the Government of Tamil Nadu in all Government Colleges to enrich all Undergraduate Non-Computer Science students from the year 2000-2001. This one year course is being offered for Rs.700/- with 90 practical hours and 60 theory hours. The students are trained on the basic knowledge of Ms-Office, Internet technologies, basics HTML. A common state-wide examination is conducted every year by the Directorate of Collegiate Education simultaneously throughout the state. Qualifying students are given a certificate, which is of great potential to them during their placement opportunities and can be registered with the employment exchange office.

A final common examination at the end of the course. Certificates are issued by the director of collegiate education on successful completion of the training course.
