Government Arts and Science College (from 2010), formerly Thiruvalluvar University Model College of Arts and Science, Thiruvennainallur, the first model college among the university constituent colleges in Thiruvalluvar University, has its own tradition and stupendous achievements. It provides a salubrious and inspiring atmosphere to every eager aspirant who wishes to pursue UG, PG, and research courses of study to achieve upward mobility in society with a sound career at hand. It disseminates quality education with time-tested values to whoever comes to its fold like a citadel of an ever-shining monarch.

The college began its journey with 233 students, 7 lecturers, and 3 office staff. Under the leadership of Principal Dr. R. Indira M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., the institution has grown significantly. By the year 2023-24, it expanded to 2,282 students, 63 faculty members, and 16 office staff.

The institution aims at the multi-faceted growth of the students. Besides achieving academic objectives, the institution indomitably endeavors to shape the characters of the students, which are undeniably essential for the sustained growth of every individual.
